It's a firesteel, so there really isn't a lot to go wrong with it. It's nice and chunky and it's got a decent bit of weight to it. You have to remove the paint covering first, just like you have to with any new firesteel, but once you have cleaned it off it strikes really well. Lots of reviews on rods just showing a fire, all fires look the same however the sparks that these things throw definitely don’t.The order arrived very fast, 3 days before expected.I took off the paracord and replaced it with my own, as there’s a plastic thing on the original that gets in the way for me.You can see in the video the rod and striker work quite well with large sparks.
