One of the best ultralight tents I’ve seen, easily set up
I picked this up on my quest to lighten up my pack a little and because, let’s face it, poles break. I can and did set this tent up with only using parachute cord, the poles weren’t even necessary. I do recommend setting it up before you go on your trip. You may find you like it better with trecking poles. The poles just made it more ridged, took all the wrinkles out, but if you don’t mind wrinkles in the fabric you can use a ridge line. The front will zip closed and open like an awning. You can

To me it is the best shelter for an overnight hike in every way. It weighs less than 2 lbs without the pegs. In terms of weight and bulk it is the same as a bivy bag. It beats a bivy bag by a wide margin in terms of ventilation – it is lined with mesh openings. And one can sit up in there to have a meal or to change, as it were a solo tent.
